About
An intelligence lab, not an agency.
LEMANS LABS builds intelligence products that help founders and companies understand themselves, their markets and their opportunities. We do not sell automation, we do not sell consulting, and we do not sell hours. We build things that answer a question and then get out of the way.
One thing the name is not: we are not affiliated with the 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race or any automotive business. The name is ours, the field is intelligence.
“Understand yourself, your market, your opportunity.”
01What an intelligence lab is
Four disciplines, one output.
An intelligence lab sits where research, strategy and machine reading meet. Each discipline on its own produces something familiar. Together they produce a document that is specific, sourced and immediately actionable.
Artificial intelligence
Machines read further than a team can and never get tired at source 900. We use them for collection, cross-checking and drafting – and we constrain them with a rubric so the output is repeatable rather than merely fluent.
Research
A finding without a source is an opinion with confidence. Every claim in every report names the evidence behind it, and where the record is thin the report says so instead of filling the gap.
Strategy
Analysis that stops at description is homework. Each report ends where a decision starts: what to do, in what order, and what it is reasonable to expect from doing it.
Business intelligence
Numbers that can be compared over time and across subjects. Same rubric, same method, same shape – so a report from March and one from June are talking about the same thing.
02How we work
Four rules we do not bend.
Products, not hours
The moment a lab starts selling time, it optimises for time. We sell finished objects at a fixed price so the incentive stays on making the object better.
Public evidence only
We read what your market reads. No systems access, no tracking code, no private data, no inference about people beyond their public professional record.
Published method
The rubric is on the site, the arithmetic is in the report, and the samples are open. A score you cannot audit is a score you should not trust.
Say the uncomfortable part
The most valuable sentence in most reports is the one the reader did not want. We would rather be useful than agreeable.
What we are working on
Reports that can be run again and compared.
The rubric was built to be stable so that a second report, months later, is a measurement rather than a new opinion. The work in front of us is everything that follows from that: tracking a score over time, comparing a set of companies on one rubric, and making the change between two runs the thing you read first.
We are deliberately not promising dates for any of it. What ships today is the report, and the report is finished.
Talk to the lab
Portfolios, batches and awkward questions.
If you are running reports across a portfolio, want a rubric applied to something we have not covered, or think a finding in one of our samples is wrong, write to us. We read everything and we correct in public.
The lab is open. Start with your own record.
